SNOW DAY!

Moab, the town that I spent 18 years of my life in, had a snow day today! Never once did I get to experience one of those while living there! I am so jealous! I am thinking that BYU needs to consider taking a snow day once in a while...

Moab got almost 8 inches! UNBELIEVABLE!!

Tis the Season!

Today it snowed!

And I'm not talking about the kind of snow that is there when you wake up in the morning and then gone by noon. It literally snowed ALL DAY LONG. As much as I dislike driving in the snow and walking to and fro on campus in all of the slush, it

truly makes it feel like winter and gives off a very "Christmasy" feeling when

there is snow on the ground. I love it!!

So after I was done with class today, I found myself driving around Provo and seriously getting so excited with how cute and cozy everything looks when it is covered in a blanket of snow. I love the feeling I get seeing all of the cute little houses in this area when they are decorated for Christmas and looking so festive. I've been taking a History of Interior Design and Architecture class this semester and it really has made me aware of all of the little architectural features on homes and buildings and made me appreciate them even more (I didn't think that was possible, but it definitely was!). Anyways, I've decided that I don't really want a huge house when I grow up, get married and start having a family. I would really love a quaint little house that has an old fashioned, timeless feel. Something similar to these....(but of course they will be even cuter when they are covered with Christmas lights, a wreath on the front door, a Christmas tree in the front window, and fresh powdery snow covering it all!!)

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving break was just what I needed! I was able to take a whole week off of school and work and spend it in Moab with my family and Preston, of course! :) I was crazy busy the entire time, which

of course made it FLY BY, but I had so much fun!

I got home just in time on the Friday before Thanksgiving and got to see my little sister's school play "Once Upon a Mattress". It was a really cute play. Emily did an awesome job in it and now she is determined to become a "famous movie star" someday now that she has done one play. She is so cute! The next day I had the opportunity to go down to the little town of Monticello to hear Sister Julie B. Beck, the General Relief Society President of the Church, speak. It was INCREDIBLE!! Seriously, I am so glad I went. Just bei

ng there and hearing all of the wonderful things she had to say was such a testimony builder to me and I left that meeting feeling so good and like I could take on anything! She is an incredible woman and

I hope that I can someday speak just a little bit like she does! She had this incredible question and answer session during her talk where she let women from the congregation ask her any questions they felt inspired to. It was amazing how she answered each of the questions! It was like she knew just exactly what they were going to ask. She had scriptures, quotes, and stories to answer the questions w

ith and she hadn't even prepared for them! I was very impressed! I truly know she has been called of God to be serving in the position that she is in.

Thanksgiving day was wonderful as always. It was a little different this year because I spent half of it down in Blanding with Preston and his family, and the other half was spent in Moab with mine. It was so

ch fun! I feel so blessed to have so many incredible people in my life. Each of them have taught me something unique and I will always be grateful for the interactions we have had with one another. I also realized how blessed I am to have all of my family so close to me. It was so nice having everyone there at Thanksgiving and just being able to spend time with all of the people that I love the most.

Why is it that something that tastes so good can be SO BAD for you?!? This is a sausage egg mcmuffin with cheese from McDonalds. Honestly one of my favorite things to eat and what I find myself craving more often than not. I gave into my craving for one this morning because I was all out of breakfast food at my house. Bring on the stomach aches for the rest of the day....:(

I must admit it did taste AMAZING though!! :)

So I am seriously counting down the hours until I go to see the New Moon premiere tomorrow at midnight!!! But I may have a little bit of a hard time being loyal to Edward in this movie. I mean, I have always been an Edward fan but have you seen Jacob in the previews of this movie?!? GORGEOUS! Anyways, I am so excited! Last year's premiere was so much fun! They had the whole theater rented out and handed out fun little goodies to everyone. I can't wait to see what they do this year!

Well Halloween weekend was a blast!! Preston got to come up and we were able to spend the whole weekend together. It was really nice! Also, my cousin Nicole (sarah's little sister) came down from BYU-Idaho for the weekend! It was so good to see her! We all had a very fun filled weekend...shopping, yummy dinners, Thanksgiving Point Corn Maze, Date to Snowbird Ski Resort, Jerry's 22nd Birthday, Halloween Parties, and just lots of fun being together! :)

Snowbird Ski Resort was doing a food drive on Saturday and if you brought a can of food then you could ride the tram to the very top of the mountain for free. So, all of Preston's brothers and their girls :) rode the tram up and got to enjoy the beautiful view! It was gorgeous up there! It made me want to go skiing quite badly!

Preston and I literally spent ALL DAY together on friday. It was so much fun. I love him!

Last weekend I went home for the Rifle deer hunt because I was actually the one who had a tag this year! Unfortunately I was unsuccessful and didn't shoot anything but my sister Lindsey did! She shot her first buck this year and it was a four point! She never ceases to amaze me! I was so happy for her! Here is Amber's little girl, Madeline, waiting in the truck while Preston and Stephen fulfilled their duties of gutting the deer.

So I have been absolutely terrible about keeping up with my blog but I am really going to try and be better at it. I am now in my Junior Year at BYU (so crazy how time flies!) and having a blast! Fun things seem to constantly be going on which always makes it a little bit hard to focus on school...:(. Preston also got home from his mission about a month ago!! Things are so great and I seriously spend every moment that I can with him! (too bad he's in Moab and I'm in Provo so we only see each other on the weekends.)

I went down to Moab for Conference Weekend and Emily's high school drill team was doing their annual "Junior Drill Performance". The theme was "sunglasses" and cute little London got to perform with them for the first time! She is such a sweetheart, I love her!

This year I have absolutely LOVED going to all of the BYU football games. I've never been much of a sports fanatic (mostly because I don't understand them), but the games this year have been an absolute blast! It's so fun to be able to go with all of my cute roomies!

Obviously this was from the beginning of the semester since it is now freezing up here in Provo! Sarah, Jaynie & I went to the "Rock the Block Party" at Seven Peaks and got in for like 10 bucks! It was awesome! We were some of the only people there actually going on the slides. We took advantage of not having to wait in the long lines that are usually there! SO MUCH FUN!

So that's a little of what has been going on lately. Maybe now I'll post more often rather than every like 2-3 months...:)

that I finally grew into my freakishly long limbs!! At least i think i did....who knows-I could very well be in denial. But seriously. For the longest time it was nearly impossible for me to find clothes that were long enough. Especially pants. They always seemed to be just a tad bit awkward and short. Ugh. Aren't those teenage years the best?!? The sad part about it was back then I had no idea I really looked that silly. Here's a good example..:)

Okay, so I may be just a little "obsessed" with watching the Bachelorette, but I could not believe that Jillian let Reid go this week!! They are perfect for each other and she knows it! I'm anxious to see who the surprise guy is on the final week because I am betting that it is Reid! And if it is and she still doesn't want him, he better be the next Bachelor because I love him! Someday I need to abandon this show all together because they never choose the people that I want them to and it just makes me so upset! If only we could have another couple like Trista and Ryan....lol

This past week or so has been soooo much fun!! I went to the Celine Dion concert in Salt Lake with my Mom, Amber, Lindsey & Lindsey's mother-in-law, Libby & sister-in-law Kelley! We had so much fun and it was seriously unbelievable to see her in concert! Amber and I had terrible seats to begin with, but we ended up working our magic and moving down to awesome seats! It was great! We definitely sang our hearts out that night!

My roommates and I also went to the International Pancake Day at Ihop which was super fun too. We also camped out at the Marriott Center for the BYU vs. UTAH basketball game that we totally froze our butts off because we pretty much laid on frozen concrete all night, but it was so way worth it because we totally dominated at the game!!! It really was an awesome game, which says a lot coming from me because I don't usually enjoy basketball games all that much but I really got into this one! :-) Haha so fun!

And I can't forget about Lindsey's new little addition to the family!! Her cute hubby suprised her with a new chocolate lab on Saturday when they were up here in Provo visiting! Cute huh! She is adorable and they named her Mia! I love her!!!!

So these pictures are from a couple of weeks ago when we thought it would be fun to go to Denny's at 6 in the morning for a free grand slam. Well, turns out everyone else in Provo thought that would be fun too and there was a HUGE line that went outside and wrapped around the building. We weren't really up to standing in it with the 20 degree weather outside so we turned around and went home and had our own grand slam breakfast! It was fun but kind of disappointing that we woke up at six for nothing! Oh the crazy things we do sometimes....

Last weekend my little sister came up with the Young Women from our ward to look at the Christmas lights at Temple Square and then to go to the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. I met up with them Saturday morning just in time to see the movie and I can't explain how much I love that movie. It gets me every time! It is simply incredible to watch the restoration of the gospel and how impacting the spirit is throughout the movie. After the movie we walked around Temple Square some more, took a tour through the museum and ate at Chuck a rama!! :) Even though I only got to spend a couple of hours with Emily, it was a blast and I really enjoyed being able to be with her and her silly self!!

We had our last football game a couple of weeks ago and I can't believe that that was already our last one! This semester is seriously flying by! Even though Sarah and I hardly even watch the game (partly because we don't understand football and partly because of our terrible habit of people watching) we still love going and always have so much fun!!

So just when I thought I was nearing the last couple of months of Preston's mission (he's been out for almost 17 months), I get a little note from him this week telling me that he gets to extend three more months and instead of coming home next July, he won't be home until October. He is super excited about it, so naturally I was excited for him! For those of you who don't know, Preston has had quite the interesting mission. He left in July of 2007 and had been out for about ten months when his mom, Sally, calls me and says that Preston had broken his hip. When I heard this, all I could think was "I thought only old people broke their hips!". But apparently young people can too! And being the goofy missionary he was at the time, he had this little mishap by jumping over a trash can!! And apparently didn't land so well after he jumped. Lol So he was sent home for four months, conveniently for the same four months that I was enjoying my summer break from BYU! So he spent his first summer as a missionary in Moab, dating his girlfriend, and doing most things that missionaries aren't allowed to. And the best part was that he was released so everything was okay!! He was one of the few missionaries that after having an experience like this, actually went back out to finish off what he started. He has now been out again for almost 4 months and I have been anxiously counting down the months until I get to see him again. And just when I thought I only had 7 left, he surprises me with the news that he gets to extend, so I now get to add 3 more months to my count down! woo hoo! I am excited for him because he loves what he is doing right now and is loving being able to serve the Lord. I feel so incredibly lucky to have someone as wonderful as him in my life! I sure do love this boy!

Now you might be thinking that we are just a little ridiculous since we are 19 & 20 years old and totally obsessed with High School Musical, but really, we are mostly just in love with Zac Efron. (notice the shirts-they have a picture of his face on them) My roommates and I went to the midnight premiere of High School Musical 3 and had a blast!!! And the funny thing was that I don't think there was anyone there under the age of 18! The theater was packed with college age girls revealing their hidden obsession just like us!! :)

This past weekend all my family on my mom's side went up to Eagle, Idaho for my cousin Brendan's farewell. It was a lot of fun to get together with family and just spend time with Brendan before he left. The picture above is of me, Brendan and Sarah. We are all the same age and it has been really fun growing up together over the years. It was both exciting and sad to say goodbye to Brendan because he is like a brother that neither of us had. He is going to be serving in the Raleigh, North Carolina mission and heads there on November 3rd!! He is the first boy cousin to serve in our family so it's very exciting!! Love ya BuBbA!

My Dad got a 3-point buck for his deer hunt! He was super excited, as you can see by looking at the picture! Oh what a goof!

I was in Moab this past weekend to take family pictures with my family! We went up on the La Sal Mountains on Geyser Pass road to get them taken. It had been stormy all weekend so we got really lucky and missed the rain!! It was a cloudy day but it made for some really great pictures! These are just a few that we took on our own after we were finished with the photographer.

This is my sophomore year at BYU and I'm absolutely loving it! I live with three great girls: Sarah, Jaynanne, and Katie. We live in a super cute condo just south of campus and there is never a dull moment at our place! We are seriously crazy but it makes it is so much fun!! This picture was at our first BYU football game of the season. We have season passes and our seats are amazing! go cougars! :)
